CONNECTING HUMANITY TO TRANSFORMATIVE HEALING

Mike Marburg and various close relations had faced what felt like insurmountable life challenges, but found that deeply engaging with mind-body-energy practices profoundly changed their lives forever. In 2018, he founded Wellmore Partners to enable the integration of holistic wellness experiences with the healing and regenerative power of Mother Nature. Previously, Mike spent 15 years as an investor and portfolio manager in the hedge fund industry, and ten plus years in the technology and management consulting fields after graduating from Cornell University's College of Engineering. Hal Thannisch and John Travers, who have directed billions in resort development projects during the past thirty years, will manage development efforts; and Greg McCarley, the co-owner of New Star Market (off 55) who graduated from James Madison, will manage community partnerships.

FOCUSED ON THE LAND

Mike's first hire was the Landscape Architect Coen+Partners, who received the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Award and excels working with large natural properties and melding the built environment into the landscape. Ensuring that our development goes "beyond sustainability," Wellmore partnered with The Regenesis Group, led by principals who co-authored the LEED standard in the 90’s and then evolved that philosophy into what is now called Regenerative Development. Local firms with deep domain expertise, including Greenway Engineering for Civil and Sustainable Solutions for Forest and Natural Resource Management, are helping us achieve our preservation and restoration mandate.

WORLD CLASS DESIGN TEAM

Our building architecture is led Olson Kundig & Marlon Blackwell Architects, who have received the highest design accolades across the world (including the United States' highest honor, Blackwell's 2019 AIA Gold Medal award) for innovation, green design, and their ability to blur the boundaries between the built and natural worlds. The Architect-of-Record is Thrive Architecture, who integrates inspiring designs within a local  context. Finally, Wellmore hired Charlottesville-based Staengl Engineering, an acclaimed MEP firm helping us become fossil fuel free and energy positive.

"BEST AND BRIGHTEST" IN HOSPITALITY

Mike hired Clodagh Interior Designa globally recognized interior designer with a focus on wellness resorts and an impressive array of awards for their “life enhancing minimalism” work. Our amazing spa consultant, Wonder Flower, has received accolades for her work at work at locations for Mandarin Oriental, The Peninsula, Four Seasons, One & Only, THE WELL, and Grand Hyatt. Finally, we hired Whiting-Turner as a construction manager, given their impressive hospitality track record and long history in the Valley delivering sustainable projects.
